Gardening

So I finally got out to do some weeding and planting. I really enjoy doing it, especially when it’s not too hot, yet I can never seem to find time. Well, yesterday Jeff was home so I left him to play with Baby J and out I went. The front bed was a monster, with thistle weeds almost as tall as me! What a job. Now it’s almost all done (with some stragglers that I’ll need to dig up), there are weed repelling pellets down, and I’ve planted eight lilies in varying colors (I won’t know what color until they show up) across the front. Should be really nice next year and on. I love perennials. Thinking of planting hostas in between the flowers.

The weeding got done yesterday (pretty hot weather but not scorching) and the planting got done today – in the dreary, sprinkling rain weather which I actually like. After planting I moved to the back yard, where I weeded what will be the “vegetable corner”. I have poor tomato and pepper plants, started months ago inside, still waiting -- in their little circular starter plant dirt pellet prisons – to be freed. Can’t wait to get them in.
